THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DEVILS AND DUST (M Yeni) reared on one occasion in the stalls shortly before the start was effected. b) RAFEEF'S CHOICE (S Veale) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Leaving the starting stalls DEVILS AND DUST (M Yeni) was bumped out by FLOWER FESTIVAL (K Matsunyane) which jumped outwards. b) Shortly before the finish QUESTO E QUELLO (R Fourie) which rolled inwards, had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of JAZZ CAFE (S Moodley) which was hanging out from the 300m. Jockey S Moodley appeared before the Board with regard to this incident. While the Stewards accepted that JAZZ CAFE was hanging out, Jockey Moodley was nevertheless advised to take the necessary timeous corrective action when shifting ground in races in future. c) JAZZ CAFE (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R A Hill advised (DZ). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Jockey K Matsunyane (FLOWER FESTIVAL) weighed out at 52.7kg, 0.5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) No report. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS : DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
