THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FAIRE ADVANTAGE (C Orffer) was examined at the start by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn. b) BIG POPPA (D Schwarz) and THUNDER MASALA (X Carstens) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 200m, BIG POPPA (D Schwarz) was momentarily unbalanced when brushed by DREAM SEARCHER (K Steyn), which rolled out and had to be straightened. b) Jockey X Carstens reported that THUNDER MASALA did not stride out freely in running and he did not persevere with his riding from the 150m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) LE LEGIONNAIRE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D McLachlan was advised.
