THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start WINTER GAMES (T Godden) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the heels of UNDERWORLD (R Fourie) which jumped outwards leaving the starting stalls. b) Leaving the 300m GIMMEANOTHERCHANCE (C Zackey) was carried out marginally by UNDERWORLD (R Fourie) which had come to the end of its run and rolled outwards. Thereafter, at the 100m UNDERWORLD (R Fourie) was brushed in by SNOW PILOT (J P v'd Merwe) which was hanging in badly from the 300m. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine SNOW PILOT. c) Jockey T Godden reported that he felt something amiss in the running with WINTER GAMES. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) MID WINTER WIND (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry advised (NS).
