THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CENTRAL CITY (R Fourie) was nervous in the stalls. b) ST CLOUD (X Ndlovu) jumped slow, losing two lengths. c) MAGNUM FIRE (*DB Geerthsen) and PAINITE (L Mxothwa) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) PAINITE (L Mxothwa) over raced in the early and middle stages. b) At the 1100m, MAGNUM FIRE (*DB Geerthsen) ran onto and clipped the heels of NOTHINGELSEMATTERS (M Yeni). c) Jockey P Mxoli reported that he felt something amiss with JACOB'S LADDER and eased this gelding out of the race from the 350m. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with NOTHINGELSEMATTERS. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. e) MAGICAL MIDLANDS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised.
