ALL AT ONCE jumped inwards leaving the stalls. ILHA DA VARLETTE was stubborn loading. TROPIC SUN was slow losing one length. Shortly after the start, ILHA DA VARLETTE threw her head up on a number of occasions when commencing to over-race and proving difficult to assist. Thereafter at approximately the 800m, ILHA DA VARLETTE hung in badly towards the inside running rail. Trainer Woodruff was advised to take the necessary corrective measures to avoid this filly behaving in a similar manner when running in races in future. ALL AT ONCE was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Vet: SPIRITOFTHEGROOVE - blowing. Scratched: MONTREAL MIST - under veterinary treatment. After the running of race 6, there was a substantial delay due to the close proximity of an electrical lightning storm above the racecourse. A panel was formed which included Jockeys, Trainers, Phumelela Representative and Stipendiary Stewards, this panel unanimously decided to abandon the remainder of the meeting due to the current storm not subsiding. Phumelela will advise timeously as to when the Secretariat Stakes would be run.
