THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HAVRE DE GRACE (M van Rensburg) and SANKOFA (KA Brewer) were stubborn loading, causing a delay and thereafter, HAVRE DE GRACE (M van Rensburg) was slow into stride. b) WHAT NOW MY GAL (S Naidoo) was reluctant to load. c) SUMIKO (Y Ramzan) fly-jumped leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) In view of the performance of HALLOWED SECRET (*T Mayhew), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) In view of the report from the Starter regarding HAVRE DE GRACE (M van Rensburg) and SANKOFA (KA Brewer), these fillies' starting stall certificates have been withdrawn and they are suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as they prove to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 13/04/2024 to 19/04/2024 inclusive). HAVRE DE GRACE and SANKOFA may not be presented for re-passing during this period. c) EQULIBRIUM (S Khumalo) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr K Davis) d) CABARET, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
