THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) WOMAN'S WORLD (KA Brewer) kicked the back gates of the starting stalls.
b) BRIDGERTON (D Ashby) was stubborn loading and thereafter, rushed the front gates of the starting stalls.
c) BOB LEE SWAGGER (C Maujean) was restless in the stalls and jumped slow, losing one length.
d) KING OF SEVILLE (*DB Geerthsen) jumped slow, losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) The saddle on PISCES (S Naidoo), which pulled hard in the early stages, slipped forward shortly after the start. As a consequence, the lead bag fitted under the saddle became detached leaving the 1400m. MO FLOW (S Khumalo), which was racing behind PISCES, was obliged to race wide on the latter part of the first bend as Jockey S Naidoo was having difficulty controlling PISCES.
b) On his return to the scale, Jockey S Naidoo (PISCES) weighed back in at 53.6kgs, 4.4kgs under the weight at which he was declared out at. An objection was lodged by the Clerk of Scales in terms of Rule 66.4 which, after a hearing, was upheld and PISCES was disqualified in terms of the provisions of Rules 68.2.11 and 69.7. Jockey S Naidoo's equipment was examined by a Stipendiary Steward and was found to be in a satisfactory condition.
c) In the concluding stages, SLAINTE MHATH (X Ndlovu), which showed a tendency to hang inwards, was brushed outwards by GIDEON'S DAUGHTER (R Fourie), which shifted out slightly away from WOMAN'S WORLD (KA Brewer).
d) KING OF SEVILLE (*DB Geerthsen) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr K Davis)
e) WOMAN'S WORLD, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM)
