THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LOVE SHACK (M Winnaar) was examined by course Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race, causing a delay. b) BAUBLES AND BEADS (J Solomons) was stubborn loading, causing a further delay and thereafter jumped slow, losing one length. c) TIBETAN VOYAGE (G Wright) was restless in the stalls. d) FIRST MASTERPIECE (JP van der Merwe) was slow into stride. e) FIRE CHASER (K Steyn) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 400m TRIED AND TRUE (M Mjoka) was directed outwards and into clear running. b) In the concluding stages FIRST MASTERPIECE (JP van der Merwe) improved and made slight contact with SILVER SCREEN (G van Niekerk) and NIGHT VIGIL (B Fayd'Herbe), both of which shifted ground marginally. c) Jockey O Noach reported that he felt something amiss with PRANKSTER. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) In view of the performance of HEAR MY VOICE (R Fourie), Trainer PD Reeves will be advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables. e) In view of the report from the Starter regarding TIBETAN VOYAGE (G Wright), Trainer B Crawford will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. f) In view of the report from the Starter regarding BAUBLES AND BEADS (J Solomons), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to load with a companion. (Suspension dates: 14/04/2024 to 20/04/2024 inclusive). BAUBLES AND BEADS may not be presented for re-passing during this period. g) FIRST MASTERPIECE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer PP Kruyer was advised.
