THE STARTER REPORTED: a) NARCOS (D Schwarz) was stubborn loading. b) SAFE RETURN (L Mxothwa) kicked the back gates of the starting stalls. c) SLINGS AND ARROWS (M Yeni) was nervous in the stalls and kicked the back gates. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Jockey K Minnie reported that TEATRO, which proved difficult to settle in the early and middle stages, made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. b) In view of the performance of ACORN (KA Brewer), which raced wide and without cover throughout the race, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey D Schwarz reported that he felt something amiss with NARCOS. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. d) SLINGS AND ARROWS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer GD Smith was advised.
