THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) During the loading process, RINGHO (*T Mayhew) broke through the front of the stalls, was restrained by the Rider returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, declared fit to race and reloaded.
b) ILHA DA ORANGE (K Matsunyane) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.
c) SUMMER SHADE (*N Nastili) and STREISAND (*M K Katjedi) jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
d) TRIP TO STATES (R Danielson) and TANA MAREE (S Khumalo) were slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) The saddle on TANA MAREE (S Khumalo) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by the patrol film.
b) Jockey M van Rensburg reported that FLY THE TUNE did not stride out freely in running.
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to RINGHO, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion.
Suspension dates: 18 April 2024 to 24 April 2024. RINGHO may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer C I Jonker was advised.
d) GORGEOUS KLEIN (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

JOCKEY CHANGES:
None.

d) TANA MAREE raced with a tongue tie on (declared 17 April 2024 at 08H17).
THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED:
a) FLY THE TUNE examined post race, nothing obvious detected.
b) SUMMER SHADE mouth injury.
c) TANA MAREE brush wound left hind; abnormal respiratory noise.
d) STREISAND brush wound left hind.
THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
