THE STARTER REPORTED: a) JP TWO THOUSAND (D Schwarz) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) VAVA VEGAS (J R Syster) over-raced in the early and middle stages. b) An inquiry will be opened into an incident that occurred at approximately the 1300m involving KASHKAVAL (P Strydom) and KAMBULU (C Maujean). c) LEAO ALADO (M Yeni) hung out badly from the 400m. When taking into account this gelding's history of hanging and covering unnecessary ground in races Trainer R R Magner will be advised to take the necessary corrective measures to improve LEAO ALADO'S racing manners. d) Jockey G Lerena, the rider of VIVA DE JANEIRO, briefly dropped his right-side rein at the 200m, which he failed to regain. e) In view of the performance of VIVA DE JANEIRO (G Lerena), (distance 3,45 lengths, betting 5/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) In view of the performance of KASHKAVAL (P Strydom), (distance 10,70 lengths, betting 9/4), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) LEAO ALADO (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
