THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SPRING TRADITION (P Mxoli) was restless in the stalls. b) ASIAN DELIGHT (G Lerena) and LEAD THE CHARGE (C Zackey) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) MESSALINA (M van Rensburg) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. d) QUIZ PARTY (*S Sosibo) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, POTBERRIE (R Fourie) was bumped out by LEAD THE CHARGE (C Zackey), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) ASIAN DELIGHT, which raced green, took a number of awkward strides in running. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. c) SPRING TRADITION (P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W C Marwing advised (MduP). When questioned regarding the improved performance of SPRING TRADITION, Trainer W C Marwing could offer the Board no suitable explanation. His attention was drawn to the Rules pertaining to In and Out running. JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
