THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BONETE (P Strydom) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) CELESTIAL CITY (K Matsunyane) and TAMARISK TREE (K A Brewer) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, OPEN HIGHWAY (C Maujean) took an awkward stride and stumbled when bumped by TAMIL TIGRESS (N Klink), which was brushed in by BONETE (P Strydom), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) Jockey R Danielson reported that THE FRONT LINE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. c) Jockey P Strydom reported that he felt something amiss with BONETE in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey N Klink reported that TAMIL TIGRESS did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) TAMARISK TREE (K A Brewer), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R R Sage advised (MduP).
