THE STARTER REPORTED: a) APPROACH SHOT (C Orffer) was restless in the stalls. b) BAGATELLE FLASH (C Zackey) rushed the front gates of the starting stalls. c) WHITE SEAHORSE (G Lerena) jumped slow, losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Trainer MH Maingard was charged with a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that he presented ACROSS THE BOW incorrectly equipped in the parade ring, which resulted in this gelding being withdrawn. Stable Employee C Kensley, acting on behalf of Trainer MH Maingard, signed an Admission of Guilt and Trainer MH Maingard was fined R1 500.00. b) Trainer GS Kotzen was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate MIND MAP against Equine Influenza in accordance with the program of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Assistant Trainer T Woolard, acting on behalf of Trainer GS Kotzen, signed an Admission of Guilt and Trainer GS Kotzen was fined R1 000.00. c) In view of the report from the Starter regarding WHITE SEAHORSE (G Lerena), Trainer GS Kotzen will be advised to have this colt re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10. d) UN BEL DI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
