THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PROJECT RUNWAY (C Zackey) was stubborn loading. b) CACUA SPIRIT (C Maujean) and LADY SONATINE (*DB Geerthsen) were slow into stride THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) SEPTEMBER FLOWER was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2. testing. The first specimen analysed at 12h17 revealed a level of over 35 TCO2. mmol/L. Trainer AC Greeff was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen would be collected. Trainer AC Greeff was informed that the second blood specimen, analysed at 12h27 had revealed a level above the international threshold of 36 mmol/L and that consequently SEPTEMBER FLOWER was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18. (Withdrawn at 12h36, 16/1 in the betting). SEPTEMBER FLOWER was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
