THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MEDITERANEANGODDESS (M van Rensburg) was examined by the course Veterinary Surgeon and withdrawn. b) AQUILA GOLD (KA Brewer) was nervous in the stalls and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 150m MR BODACIOUS (C Habib) was steadied briefly when awkwardly placed on the inside of ANUSCHKA'S WORLD (C Zackey), which was hanging in and proved difficult to keep on a straight course. b) RAPTOR ISLAND (S Khumalo) raced in restricted galloping room on the inside of ANUSCHKA'S WORLD (C Zackey) at the finish. c) In view of the performance of AQUILA GOLD (KA Brewer), which was hanging in from the 400m, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. d) In view of the performance of HOLLY'S VIEW (R Fourie) (Betting 9/2; Distance 4.40 lengths) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) JACKSON MISISSIPPI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
