THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) After arriving at the start, Jockey C Maujean expressed concern with POMODORO MAGIC's action while proceeding to the start. This filly was examined at the start by the course Veterinary Surgeon and passed suitable to race, causing a delay.
b) STORM PLAYER (S Khumalo) was stubborn loading.
c) NYALI BEACH (K Minnie) was stubborn loading and jumped outwards leaving the stalls.
d) EUROPEAN SUMMER (*DB Geerthsen) was slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) After being slow to begin, CHERE FOR ME (*N Nastili) was bumped by NYALI BEACH (K Minnie), which jumped outwards. As a consequence, CHERE FOR ME (*N Nastili) lost position and raced detached from the field in the early stages.
b) Shortly after the start SYMBOL OF LOVE (Y Ramzan) and DREAM SCAPE (M van Rensburg) bumped, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced.
c) Jockey L Mxothwa reported that PRINCESS DEB'S raced with her tongue over the bit.
d) Jockeys M van Rensburg, C Zackey and D Schwarz, the riders of DREAM SCAPE, LISTENTOTHEOCEAN and PRINCESS HANNAH respectively, reported that they felt something amiss with these fillies. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
e) Jockeys Y Ramzan and C Maujean, the riders of SYMBOL OF LOVE and POMODORO MAGIC respectively, reported that these fillies did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f) In view of the performance of NYALI BEACH (K Minnie), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
g) BODY ELECTRIC, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised. (LM)
