THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) EXODUS SONG (A Mgudlwa) lost 2 lengths.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) MOUNTAIN HIGH (R Fourie) lost 2 lengths and thereafter was slow to begin. This resulted in this filly settling towards the rear of the field for the majority of the race.
b) Shortly after the start GOT THE FEVER (C Zackey) was squeezed out between TINA T (S Moodley) and SEA SALT (T Godden).
c) OH YOKO (J P v'd Merwe) commenced to over-race in the early and middle stages, proving difficult to assist. Thereafter, in the pull up area, this filly stumbled, dislodging Jockey v'd Merwe.
d) SEA SALT (T Godden) over-raced in the early and middle stages. Thereafter Jockey T Godden reported that he felt something amiss with this filly in the concluding stages.
e) LADY ELI MO (*K J Lihaba) was hanging out around the turn, proving difficult to assist.
f) At approximately the 300m SEA SALT (T Godden) was carried in marginally by UMZOLOZOLO (C Orffer) which was hanging in.
g) At approximately the 300m PRINCESS PALACE (C Maujean) was steadied when awkwardly placed on the inside of TINA T (S Moodley), which rolled in, and MOUNTAIN HIGH (R Fourie).
h) Approaching the 200m PANTHERA UNCIA (C Habib) was steadied and switched out off the heels of SEA SALT (T Godden) to obtain a clear run.
i) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning SEA SALT, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Assistant Trainer C Eudey acting on behalf of Trainer M D Miller was advised (RC). Suspension date : 12.05.2024 - 10.07.2024 bdi.
j) SORCERESS SUPREME (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Rix advised (NS).
