THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SHAMPOMPO SHAMPIZI (A Mgudlwa) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) From the 150m, MAGIC TATTOO (C Habib) was carried and brushed out by HITHEMHARDSUNSHINE (R A Venniker) which shifted out away from the crop. A race review was called by a member of the Stipendiary Board which was followed by an Objection being lodged by Trainer Y Govender acting on behalf of Trainer S G Tarry on behalf of the second placed horse MAGIC TATTOO (C Habib) against the winner HITHEMHARDSUNSHINE (R Venniker) on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. After considering the evidence presented, the Board was of view that but for the above incident, MAGIC TATTOO (C Habib) would not have beaten HITHEMHARDSUNSHINE. Therefore, the Board overruled the objection and allowed the Judges' result to stand. In arriving at this decision, the Board considered that HITHEMHARDSUNSHINE (R A Venniker) had improved from behind MAGIC TATTOO (C Habib) prior to the interference occurring, the extent of the interference and the distance between these two horses at the finish. The deposit was refunded. Jockey R Venniker signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 62.2.7, in that as the rider of HITHEMHARDSUNSHINE, she failed to ensure that she did not cause interference to MAGIC TATTOO (C Habib) from the 150m. Accordingly, a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of 7 days was imposed. (Suspension Dates to be advised) b) Jockey M Yeni reported that DIANI took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) HITHEMHARDSUNSHINE (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) DIANI was ridden by Jockey M Yeni. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) DIANI : Nothing obvious detected.
