SOCIAL ORDER (A Marcus) and BLACKBALL (W Kennedy) lost 1 length, respectively.BORN TO PERFORM (S Khumalo) was baulked for a clear run between the 400m and the 300m.Thereafter,at the 300m,SHUKAMISA (C Habib) was carried in by BORN TO PERFORM (S Khumalo) who shifted in to continue his run and finished his race off strongly.In the concluding stages,MARCHINGONTOGETHER (B Fayd'herbe) was momentarily inconvenienced when tightened for galloping room on the inside of SHUKAMISA (C Habib).Jockey S Veale signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M,in that he struck the horse TRISTFUL more than 12 times in the entire race.In deciding what penalty to impose, the Board considered Jockey Veale's poor record in relation to this rule.Accordingly, a penalty of R1500 was imposed.Jockey D Dillon signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M,in that he struck the horse THE DAZZLER more than 12 times in the entire race.In deciding what penalty to impose,the Board considered the manner in which Jockey Dillon used his crop and the number of times that he struck the horse THE DAZZLER.Accordingly,a penalty of R2000 was imposed.
