THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FOREVER MINE (R Fourie) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, BINGWA (K Matsunyane) and FOREVER MINE (R Fourie)came together and bumped. b) At approximately the 300m, TWIN TURBO (J Gates) had to ease off the heels of BINGWA (K Matsunyane), which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey K Matsunyane was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of BINGWA, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to TWIN TURBO (J Gates) when he shifted in at approximately the 300m. Jockey K Matsunyane signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of seven (7) days. Suspension dates: To be advised. c) In view of the performance of SCALLYWAG (K A Brewer), (distance 4,75 lengths, betting 28/10), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Stable Employee M Peter, acting on behalf of Trainer A P Peter, was requested to report back to the Stipendiary Board on the condition of SCALLYWAG on return to stables. d) BINGWA (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) FOREVER MINE: Jockey R Fourie weighed out at 54,9kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. b) LADY OF POWER: Jockey M Yeni weighed out at 50,8kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) LADY OF POWER raced with a tongue tie on (declared 10 May 2024 at 08H53). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) SCALLYWAG examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) EYE OF THE PROPHET blowing post race. c) FOREVER MINE cut into right hind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
