TWICE AS SMART (D Dillon),ROY'S RIVIERA (AUS) (B Fayd'herbe) and MOON IN JUNE (R Danielson) lost 1 length,respectively.At the 300m, WINTER SUN (*D Schwarz) had to ease when awkwardly placed on the outside of SILENT CRUSADE (K de Melo) which was hanging out,proving difficult to assist from the 300m.Additionally, Jockey K de Melo dropped his crop in the concluding stages.Jockey C Habib the rider of BEAT IT (12.45 lengths) reported this filly was distressed post race.The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.Jockey D Dillon the rider of TWICE AS SMART (6.70 lengths) reported this mare took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.Jockey G Wright signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2, read in conjunction with Guideline M, in that he struck the horse WAITING FOR CHANGE more than 12 times in the entire race.In deciding what penalty to impose, the Board considered Jockey Wright's poor recent record in relation to this Rule. Accordingly, a penalty of R3000 was imposed. Additionally, Jockey Wright was advised that should he appear before the Board for a similar contravention in future, a more severe penalty may be imposed.ROY'S RIVIERA (AUS) (B Fayd'herbe) the winner, selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
