THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DOUBLE TRADE (S Naidoo) was stubborn loading. b) GINGER PALACE (Y Ramzan) was stubborn loading and nervous in the stalls. c) BLUEBERRY BLUE (M van Rensburg) was nervous in the stalls and thereafter was slow into stride. d) MAXIGIRL (L Mxothwa) and ONE WISH (X Ndlovu) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 300m MAXIGIRL (L Mxothwa) shifted out away from the crop and was immediately straightened. b) When questioned regarding his riding of ONE WISH over the final 150m of this race, Jockey X Ndlovu told the Stewards that ONE WISH is a very fractious filly at home and raced green in this, her debut start. The filly had raced handy in the early part of the race and had tired and commenced to hang out in the latter stages. Jockey X Ndlovu further told the Stewards that ONE WISH had not responded to his use of the crop in the early part of the straight and that, in his opinion, had come to end of her run and would not have benefited from a more vigorous ride. The Stewards noted his explanation. However, Jockey X Ndlovu was advised that he should ride his mounts with sufficient vigour and determination so as to leave no room for query. c) In view of the performance of ONE WISH (X Ndlovu), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) SUCHALIFE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
