THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WHAT A LUCY (C Zackey) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) FOLLOW THE SUN (K A Brewer), SILKY JET (Wes Marwing) INTRO (D Schwarz) and ONE PARTY (C Maujean) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 900m, GLORIA MUNDI (M van Rensburg) clipped the heels of BACARDI BABE (*N Nastili), which shifted out when insufficiently clear. Apprentice N Nastili was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that he, as the rider of BACARDI BABE, failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to GLORIA MUNDI (M van Rensburg) when he shifted out at approximately the 900m. Apprentice N Nastili signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of seven days. Suspension dates: 25 May 2024 to 31 May 2024 (both days inclusive). b) Jockey K A Brewer reported that FOLLOW THE SUN took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) Jockey D Schwarz was dislodged from INTRO in the pull-up area, which stumbled and thereafter bolted the course. This precluded Jockey D Schwarz from weighing in. The Board, acting in terms of Rule 66.2, deemed his weight to be correct. d) GLAWARI (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P F Matchett advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: None. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) FOLLOW THE SUN blowing post race. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
