THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WHY NOT JACKIE (X Carstens) was restless in the stalls and threw its head down as the start was effected, losing one length. b) ELECTRIC FEELS (C Bantam) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 300m VERONIQUE (R Fourie) had to be steadied away from the heels of ELECTRIC FEELS (C Bantam) when brushed inwards by TRY ME (K Steyn), which raced onto the heels of A THOUSAND KISSES (J Solomons) and shifted in. Thereafter, VERONIQUE (R Fourie) was directed outwards and was unable to secure a clear run until the finish. b) Approaching the 300m WHY NOT JACKIE (X Carstens) was directed to the outside of DOUBLE DREAM (M Mjoka) to continue its run. c) Between the 150m and 50m TRES CHIC (C Zackey) was unable to secure clear running between the inside running rail and ELECTRIC FEELS (C Bantam). d) BLACK PATH (JP van der Merwe) was hanging out in the latter stages. e) DOUBLE DREAM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer VH Marshall was advised.
