THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) EAU DE VIE (J Jacobs) over-raced in the early stages. b) KITTEN'S ADVENTURE (C F Dicken) over-raced in the early and middle stages. c) HUGSANDHIGHFIVES (C Habib) and MISS PAGET (A Mgudlwa) were hanging in from the 300m. d) Jockey J Jacobs reported that EAU DE VIE took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the performance of KITTEN'S ADVENTURE (C F Dicken) (10.05 lengths, 25/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) Jockey A Mgudlwa signed an admission of guilt for a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E; Guideline M), in that he as the rider of MISS PAGET misused his crop by striding this filly more than 12 times (15) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Accordingly, a penalty of a fine of R7500 was imposed. g) MISS PAGET (A Mgudlwa), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A Wright advised (NS).
