THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ACROSS THE BOW (L Mxothwa) jumped inwards. b) UPPER CRUST (G van Niekerk) and SOLARTRIUP (S Veale) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race and the thirty-minute interval. b) After jumping awkwardly, ACROSS THE BOW (L Mxothwa) was taken in behind runners. c) ACROSS THE BOW (L Mxothwa) was awkwardly placed close to the heels of BOUNDLESS ENERGY (C Zackey) shortly before the finish. d) Jockey G van Niekerk reported that he felt something amiss with UPPERCRUST and he did not persevere with his riding from the 150m.
