THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, MO MENT (J R Syster) kicked the back gates resulting in JUSTCRUISINALONG (J Gates) becoming restless and breaking through the front of the stalls. b) PATH OF POWER (*S Sosibo) was slow losing three lengths and thereafter, slow into stride. Trainer P F Matchett is to be advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement. c) HAT FURIOUS (*K J Lihaba) was slow losing two lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Leaving the 800m, GAMER (J Penny) was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of MO MENT (J R Syster). b) Apprentice K J Lihaba, the rider of HAT FURIOUS, accidentally dropped his crop at the 300m. c) Apprentice B Plaatjies reported that PERFORM took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning PATH OF POWER, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer P F Matchett is to be advised. e) ULTIMISSIMO (M Yeni), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J S Roux advised (MS). f) MO MENT (J R Syster), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Webber advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) GOLD DE GRACE: Jockey K Matsunyane weighed out at 52,8kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight.
