THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MARY READ (P Strydom) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. b) QUEEN OF LOVE (R Fourie) jumped sharply inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, MARY READ (P Strydom), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls, brushed the hindquarters of KYLIE'S ANGEL (C Habib) and was steadied. As a consequence, MARY READ (P Strydom) lost momentum and took up a position at the rear of the field. b) Jockey G Lerena reported that GREEN FAME did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) QUEEN OF LOVE (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
