THE STARTER REPORTED: a) BLUEBERRY BLUE (M van Rensburg), GLOBAL SCENE (C Maujean) and PITZUCHIM (*DB Geerthsen) were stubborn loading. b) ONE WISH (X Ndlovu) was stubborn loading and thereafter was slow into stride. c) FIRST WISH (R Fourie) jumped slow, losing one length. d) ALPINE DIAMOND (D Daniels) and FARAWAY STAR (C Habib) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) THREAD OF LIFE (R Danielson) was hanging in throughout and proved difficult to keep on a straight course. Trainer TJ Laing's attention was drawn to this filly's racing manners and she advised the Board that she intends to experiment with different equipment in an attempt to improve this filly's racing behaviour. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine THREAD OF LIFE (R Danielson). b) ALPINE DIAMOND (D Daniels) raced green and was hanging in from the 400m. c) In view of the debut performance of FARAWAY STAR (C Habib), which finished tailed off, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) PITZUCHIM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JVA Strydom was advised.
