THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CARVED IN STONE (*DB Geerthsen) was stubborn loading and thereafter was slow into stride. b) PANTADOR (C Maujean) and STATESMAN (R Fourie) were nervous in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 250m MAFIABAGSTHEMONEY (S Naidoo) shifted out away from the crop and had to be straightened. b) Apprentice AR Al-Mansouri was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on TORNADO KING, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer. Apprentice AR Al-Mansouri signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2 000.00. c) RESURGENCE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer K Mitchley was advised. (LM) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) *AR Al-Mansouri (TORNADO KING) weighed out at 57kgs and only claimed 3kg of his 4kg allowance. The Stewards, in consultation with Trainer E Kaknis, allowed this overweight in terms of Rule 59.9. b) L Mxothwa (PRINCESS VRITTI) rode +0.5kg (58.4kgs) RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER a) Nil THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) COLONEL GREEN - coughing b) TORNADO KING - scalp wound right hind c) PRINCESS VRITTI - abnormal respiratory noise THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS
