THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Steady rain fell prior to and during the running of this race. b) Leaving the 800m DE JANIERO (KA Brewer) was steadied when close to the heels of HAVANA GREY (R Fourie). c) In view of the performance of HAVANA GREY (R Fourie), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) The Clerk of Scales reported that all Riders weighed back in in excess of 1kg over the weight at which they had been declared out. The Stewards were satisfied that this was as a result of the prevailing weather conditions. e) HILDELITA, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
