THE STARTER REPORTED: a) The tongue tie on KATSU (G van Niekerk) was re-fitted at the start, causing a delay. b) NO APOLOGIES (D Ashby) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) WILLIE JOHN (L Mxothwa) over raced in the early stages. b) NATYAM (*AR Al-Mansouri) raced wide without cover on the turn and into the straight. c) Leaving the 200m COSMIC EVENT (JP van der Merwe) had to be eased off the heels of BARDOLINO (G Wright), which was directed outwards and into clear running. Jockey C Zackey appeared before the Board and was advised to be more aware of other runners when shifting ground. d) Jockey K Steyn reported that, in his opinion, the performance of TYRION LANNISTER was disappointing. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. e) Jockey A Andrews reported that CALL TO UNITE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. f) In view of the performance of QUATERMAIN (R Fourie), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. g) Trainer Gareth van Zyl was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to have available the registered colours of the owner/s of NATYAM (*AR Al-Mansouri). Trainer Gareth van Zyl signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R500,00. h) KATSU, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Woodruff was advised.
