THE STARTER REPORTED: a) During the loading process, GREEN SCEPTRE (K Matsunyane) broke through the front gates. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer S G Tarry to be advised (GT). b) MESCAL (D Schwarz) was slow losing three lengths and thereafter slow into stride. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised to reschool this gelding prior to his next engagement (GT). c) FEELING GROOVY (*M K Katjedi) was slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) During the loading process, GREEN SCEPTRE became restless and broke through the front gates. This gelding was restrained by Jockey K Matsunyane, returned to the start, examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, passed fit to race and reloaded. b) GALLA VANTING (S Khumalo) over-raced in the early and middles stages and thereafter tired badly from the 300m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) At approximately the 500m, CERULEAN DANCER (M Yeni) was carried out marginally by KNOCKEMSTIFF (C Habib), which rolled out. d) Jockey P Mxoli, the rider of CIRCUS LIGHTS, accidentally dropped his crop at the 300m. e) Leaving the 200m, SOUTHERN STYLE (G Lerena) was carried in by AFTER HOURS (P Strydom), which hung in from the 300m. f) In view of the Starter's report with regard to GREEN SCEPTRE, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 14 June 2024 to 20 June 2024. GREEN SCEPTRE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer S G Tarry to be advised. g) CIRCUS LIGHTS (P Mxoli), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G J Maroun is to be questioned regarding this gelding's improved performance. JOCKEY CHANGES: a) GREEN SCEPTRE was ridden by Jockey K Matsunyane (declared 13 June 2024 at 08H16). b) KNOCKEMSTIFF was ridden by Jockey C Habib (declared 13 June 2024 at 14H37).
