THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MAD WORLD (K Steyn) was stubborn loading and thereafter was slow into stride. b) BEST INTENTIONS (C Zackey) jumped outwards. c) QUEEN OFTHE PALACE (C Maujean) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start QUEEN OFTHE PALACE (C Maujean) had to be steadied away from the heels of DIRTY MIMOSA (*DB Geerthsen), which was bumped outwards by BEST INTENTIONS (C Zackey), which shifted out leaving the stalls. b) Leaving the 500m QUEEN OFTHE PALACE (C Maujean) brushed the inside running rail. c) FANNY KEMBLE (L Mxothwa) was hanging in in the straight and had to be straightened at the 200m. d) Jockey C Zackey (BEST INTENTIONS) reported that his saddle slipped back marginally shortly after the start. This was confirmed on the video footage. e) Apprentice N Nastili reported that ELUSIVE HUNTER made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) FANNY KEMBLE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised.
