THE STARTER REPORTED: a) INTUITIVE SPIRIT (M Yeni) and HUNTERS ARROW (C Maujean) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) After being slow into stride SAUVIGNON SAM (T Godden) was squeezed out shortly after the start. b) At the 1200m INTUITIVE SPIRIT (M Yeni) which over-raced in the early and middle stages, was eased to avoid running onto the heels of MAGIC HAT TRICK (S Moodley). c) FIRE FORCE (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 350m. d) At the finish MAGIC HAT TRICK (S Moodley) was carried out marginally by NOBLE WARRIOR (R A Venniker) which was hanging out from the 150m and shifted out. As a result INTUITIVE SPIRIT (M Yeni) was eased when awkwardly placed between MAGIC HAT TRICK (S Moodley) and TAXHAVEN (C Zackey). Jockey R Venniker appeared before the Board regarding this incident and was advised to take more timeous corrective measures in races in future. e) Jockey M V'Rensburg reported that IRON MONGER did not stride out freely in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning SAUVIGNON SAM, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer F Robinson was advised. (Suspension date 16.06.2024 - 14.08.2024 bdi). g) NOBLE WARRIOR (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M L Roberts advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) IRON MONGER : Not striding out right front. b) SAUVIGNON SAM : Bilateral epistaxis confirmed.
