THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VISION TO ACHIEVE (A Mgudlwa) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) ON CUE (M Yeni) took an awkward stride at the 550m. b) PRITTI VICTORY was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2. testing. The first specimen analysed at 13h22 revealed a level of over 35 TCO2. mmol/L. Assistant Trainer G van Zyl acting on behalf of Trainer G van Zyl (Jnr) was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen would be collected. Assistant Trainer G van Zyl was informed that the second blood specimen, analysed at 13h34 had revealed a level above the international threshold of 36 mmol/L and that consequently PRITTI VICTORY was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18.
