THE STARTER REPORTED: a) I'M DEVINE (R A Venniker) and EXODUS SONG (M Thackeray) lost 1 length. b) LONG STREET (R Fourie) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) CHAKPORI (N Patel) jumped outwards leaving the starting stalls. Thereafter this filly commenced to over-race in the early stages. b) Shortly after the start LONG STREET (R Fourie) was carried out by I'M DEVINE (R A Venniker) which jumped outwards. This resulted in LONG STREET (R Fourie) losing ground to the field. c) At the 1000m LONG STREET (R Fourie) was carried out on two occasions by I'M DEVINE (R A Venniker) which commenced to over-race and rolled out. d) WAY TO BURN (J Jacobs) was hanging out throughout. e) Shortly after entering the straight LONG STREET (R Fourie) and in turn EXODUS SONG (M Thackeray) were carried in by CHAKPORI (N Patel) which had come to the end of its run and rolled in. f) In view of the performances of CHAKPORI (N Patel) 22.70 lengths, 66/1 in the betting) and AMBER EYES (*I Taka) (18.50 lengths, 66/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) WAY TO BURN (J Jacobs), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
