DURING THE LOADING PROCESS, PASS THE BATON BECAME RESTLESS AND BROKE THROUGH THE FRONT GATES. THIS FILLY WAS RESTRAINED BY JOCKEY K MATSUNYANE, RETURNED TO THE START, EXAMINED BY THE VETERINARY SURGEON, PASSED FIT TO RACE AND RELOADED. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PASS THE BATON (K Matsunyane) was restless in the stalls and broke through the front gates. The starting stall certificate for this filly has been withdrawn. Trainer C I Jonker was advised (PHvdW). b) ROYAL HORIZON (J R Syster) jumped sharply inwards leaving the stalls. c) TOGETHER AGAIN (C Maujean) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) As the start was effected, KIA KAHA (M Yeni) was bumped in by ROYAL HORIZON (J R Syster), which jumped awkwardly inwards leaving the stalls. b) Shortly after the start, SHE'S A BOMBER (G Lerena) was buffeted between TOGETHER AGAIN (C Maujean), which jumped outwards leaving the stalls, and BERRIESOFTHESTRAW (J Penny), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls. c) Jockey N Klink reported that he felt something amiss with MAGIC BANK in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) In view of the Starter's report with regard to PASS THE BATON, this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as she proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. Suspension dates: 21 June 2024 to 27 June 2024. PASS THE BATON may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer C I Jonker was advised. e) SHE'S A BOMBER (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer J J van Vuuren advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: None.
