THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) FOSTINOVO (S Khumalo) and SAIL THE SKY (D Schwarz) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly before the finish line, RAINBOW REWARD (G Lerena) was carried out marginally and brushed by BOB'S YOUR UNCLE (R Danielson), which shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. An Objection was lodged by Jockey G Lerena, on behalf of the second placed horse, RAINBOW REWARD, against the winner, BOB'S YOUR UNCLE (R Danielson), on the grounds of interference in the concluding stages. The Objection Board, after giving due consideration to the evidence put forward by the connections, the distance of 0,10 lengths between the two horses involved and the proximity of the incident to the finish, determined that RAINBOW REWARD would not have finished ahead of BOB'S YOUR UNCLE had this incident not occurred. The Board overruled the Objection and refunded the deposit. b) BOB'S YOUR UNCLE (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M N Houdalakis advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) VEGAS HI RISE: Apprentice T Mayhew weighed out at 54,4kg, only claiming 2kg of his 4kg apprentice allowance as declared.
