THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) WOOD WORLD (A Arries), GARDEN SUN (R Khathi), AMERICAN MATADOR (S Veale) and COURTLY (A Andrews) jumped slow, losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) After being slow to begin COURTLY (A Andrews), which raced green, raced detached from the field in the early stages and only responded to its riders urgings in the latter stages.
b) MYSTIC MAJESTY (R Fourie) over raced in the early stages and was allowed to race to the front of the field.
c) In view of the performance of KRIM (L Mxothwa), which refused to settle in the early and middle stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
d) Approaching the 200m GLOBAL ROCK (K Steyn) was carried inwards by JET A ONE (SJ Donohoe), which raced green, shifted in sharply away from the crop and had to be straightened.
e) In view of the performance of FLYING BOMB (G Wright), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f) Trainer D McLachlan was charged with a contravention of Rule 8.3.1 in that he failed to have available the registered colours of the owner/s of CHALICE FORT. Trainer D McLachlan signed an Admission of Guilt and was given a warning.
g) SAIL THE SEAS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised. (TJ)
