THE STARTER REPORTED:

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) GOT THE WORD (*S Hlengwa) was hanging in, in the concluding stages.
b) Jockey J Jacobs reported that LAVA BURST took no interest in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
c) Jockey C Zackey reported that he felt something amiss with FINALMENTE in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
d) MY BOY LOLLIPOP was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2. testing. The first specimen analysed at 11h24 revealed a level of over 35 TCO2. mmol/L. Trainer F Robinson was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen would be collected. Trainer F Robinson was informed that the second blood specimen, analysed at 11h38 had revealed a level above the international threshold of 36 mmol/L and that consequently MY BOY LOLLIPOP was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18. (Withdrawn at 11h41, 6/10 in the betting).
e) DONT JUDGE (C Habib), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P V Lafferty advised (SP).
