THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RAFA'S BOY (C Zackey) and CHARA SANDS (*S Hlengwa) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start RAFA'S BOY (C Zackey) was brushed by PLINIAN (S Khumalo) which jumped out. b) TRAFALGAR SQUARE (R Fourie) and PHILISPIEL (R A Venniker) were hanging in from the 150m. c) Jockey S Khumalo reported that he felt something amiss in the running with PLINIAN. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the performances of HARLEY STREET (J Jacobs) (4.00 lengths, 16/1 in the betting) and LIGHTNING JIMMY (C F Dicken) (8.20 lengths, 66/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning PLINIAN, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended for 60 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority.
