THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHEF'S KISS (D Daniels) lost 1 length. b) LIKE A BUTTERFLY (S Khumalo) jumped awkwardly outwards and thereafter was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) CHEF'S KISS (D Daniels) was hanging out from the 250m. b) In the concluding stages LADYBUG (S Moodley) which was hanging out from the 300m and HEAD GIRL (C Habib) which rolled in, came together and brushed. c) JET LAVISH was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2. testing. The first specimen analysed at 11h39 revealed a level of over 35 TCO2. mmol/L. Trainer K Naidoo was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen would be collected. Trainer K Naidoo was informed that the second blood specimen, analysed at 11h50 had revealed a level above the international threshold of 36 mmol/L and that consequently JET LAVISH was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18. (Withdrawn at 11h55, 14/1 in the betting). d) LADYBUG (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
