THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LADY SUREYYA (N Patel) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) HER ROYALTY (T Godden) was hanging in between the 400m and the 300m. b) Jockey A Mgudlwa reported that FRENCH DUCHESS coughed in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. c) I'M DEVINE (R A Venniker), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer T Crawford acting on behalf of Trainer L Crawford advised (SP). Assistant Trainer T Crawford was questioned regarding the improved performance of I'M DEVINE as compared to this mare's previous performances. She attributed the improvement shown to running this mare over the shorter distance of 1400m as compared to her previous two runs over further distance. Miss Crawford undertook to race I'M DEVINE over similar shorter distances in the near future. The Board noted this explanation. JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil.
