THE MERCIFUL REFUSED TO LOAD AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY SCRATCHED BY THE STARTER. THIS CAUSED A DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE.
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) THE MERCIFUL (*S Sosibo) refused to load. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer T Zackey was advised.
b) INCREDIBLE INDRANI (D Schwarz) was stubborn loading. Trainer F P Habib was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT).
c) ANGEL OF MY HEART (S Khumalo) and MANZ KNIGHT (*A R Al-Mansouri) were slow losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) INCREDIBLE INDRANI (D Schwarz) and GLOBAL REEF (C Maujean) came together and brushed at the 150m.
b) Jockey C Zackey (VIVA LA VICTOR) did not persevere with his riding from the 300m. Thereafter, Jockey C Zackey reported that VIVA LA VICTOR did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to THE MERCIFUL, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion.
Suspension dates: 28 June 2024 to 7 July 2024. THE MERCIFUL may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer T Zackey was advised.
d) CALLABURN (R Danielson), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.

JOCKEY CHANGES:
a) MANZ KNIGHT: Apprentice A R Al-Mansouri weighed out at 55kg, only claiming 1,5kg of his 4kg apprentice allowance of which 2kg over-weight was declared.
RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER:
a) PLUM BLOSSOM raced equipped cheek pieces (declared 20 June 2024 at 10H30).
b) ANGEL OF MY HEART raced equipped with a compression mask and cheek pieces (declared 24 June 2024 at 07H47).
