THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) MESCAL (C Zackey) refused to jump. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised (GT).
b) SPARKLING JUBILEE (D De Gouveia) was slow losing one length.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) In view of the performance of GUERILLA WARFARE (M Yeni), which over-raced in the early stages, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt.
b) In view of the Starter's report with regard to MESCAL, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion on a Raceday.
Suspension dates: 28 June 2024 to 4 July June 2024. MESCAL may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer F Bronkhorst was advised.
c) SPARKLING JUBILEE (D De Gouveia), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer P D Lhamini, acting on behalf of Trainer M F de Kock, advised (MduP).
JOCKEY CHANGES:
a) DARK TIDE was ridden by Jockey Wes Marwing (declared 27 June 2024 at 08H06).
Jockey R Danielson was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the correct carded weight on DARK TIDE, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with Trainer F Bronkhorst, thereby necessitating a change of Rider. Jockey R Danielson signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.
