THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ANUSCHKA'S WORLD (C Zackey) was stubborn loading. b) MARQUEZ (R Fourie) jumped inwards. c) SEATTLE RIPPER (S Khathi) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start RAPTOR ISLAND (S Naidoo) was buffeted between MARQUEZ (R Fourie), which jumped inwards and MR BODACIOUS (*N Nastili). In this incident, NOTORIX (L Mxothwa) was turned slightly when MR BODACIOUS (*N Nastili) made contact with its hindquarters. b) ANUSCHKA'S WORLD (C Zackey) and MR BODACIOUS (*N Nastili) were hanging in from the 300m. c) In view of the performance of ANUSCHKA'S WORLD (C Zackey) (Betting 9/2; Distance 5 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Trainer GD Smith will be advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. d) MARQUEZ (R Fourie) returned with a bilateral epistaxis due to an exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage and is suspended, for a period of 60 days, from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa in terms of Rule 93.1. (Dr E Reynders) e) NOTORIX, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer JP Nel was advised.
