THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) SIBERIAN WINTER (R A Venniker) was stubborn to load.
b) YOU BRING ME JOY (S Veale) reared on one occasion in the stalls.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a) DISTING (K Matsunyane) over-raced in the early stages.
b) Approaching the 1100m LITTLE BALLERINA (G Lerena) which over-raced in the early stages, was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of DISTING (K Matsunyane).
c) Approaching the 800m BEAUTIFUL RANIA (R Danielson) and VJ'S ANGEL (C Habib) came together and brushed.
d) At the 150m WHISTLE THE TUNE (R Fourie) which was hanging out from the 300m was eased when awkwardly placed between KHETHIWE'S DESTINY (M Yeni) which had rolled out and FATAL FLAW (P Strydom) which rolled in marginally and thereafter shifted in.
e) Jockeys C Zackey (GIMMIE'S COUNTESS) and G Lerena (LITTLE BALLERINA) reported something amiss in the running with their respective mounts. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f) In view of the performance of YOU BRING ME JOY (S Veale) (19.20 lengths, 100/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
g) QUID PRO QUO (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B D Botes advised (NS).
h) FATAL FLAW (P Strydom), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer B Crawford advised (DZ).
