DUE TO A TECHNICAL ISSUE WITH THE HAWK-EYE SYSTEM, THERE WAS A SIGNIFICANT DELAY TO THE START OF THIS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ANOTHER UNIVERSE (D De Gouveia) and KAMENSKY (G Lerena) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Approaching the 200m, FORCE DE DIEU (P Mxoli), which shifted out away from the crop, and DECEPTION PASS (C Zackey), which hung in from the 250m, came together and brushed. b) Jockey D De Gouveia reported that ANOTHER UNIVERSE made an abnormal respiratory noise in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this colt. c) Trainer A Azzie was charged with a contravention of Rule 39.7.5 in that he failed to vaccinate ANOTHER UNIVERSE against Equine Influenza in accordance with the programme of vaccinations as published from time to time in the Racing Calendar. Trainer A Azzie signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000. d) KAMENSKY (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer C Botha, acting on behalf of Trainer R R Magner, was advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) GOLD DE GRACE was ridden by Apprentice N Nastili (declared 7 July 2024 at 12H38).
